Jason and Lisa met at a hatchery on Kodiak Island, outfitted in grundens and elbow deep in salmon eggs. Noticing that Jason was a cutie, she asked for his phone number so she could hand it off to a girlfriend. Before she could she had changed her mind- she was going to keep him for herself. After a summer spent in the remote wilderness together, grad school in the lower 48, a long distance relationship, a crazy lab puppy, a home of their own, and a Thanksgiving proposal, they tied the knot this summer and asked me to capture their day.
The manager of that same salmon hatchery was the officiant, Lisa’s sister made their rings, her mother grew the beautiful flowers. Everyone pitched in to make the day happen and it turned out to be a beautiful, simple, love filled celebration set against the raw Alaskan beauty. Thank you so much Jason and Lisa for trusting me in documenting your day, it meant so much to come back to my home state and see beauty there in a whole new way.
well i can add alaska to the list. love it.
