I received such great entries for the APW Giveaway, I’m excited to share the top three with you! This giveaway was to celebrate my joining the A Practical Wedding vendor community, and the couple that wins will receive a free portrait session that includes 2 hours of shooting time, a disc of medium resolution edited images, and an online gallery, all valued at over $350. I asked the couples to share what they were most thankful for about their partner. Now it’s up to you who wins!

Breanna and Derek

My name is Breanna, I’m engaged to Derek. He’s kind of totally awesome. We are planing to get married in Tennessee in October, even though we live in LA.

I’m thankful for so many things about my partner, but the one thing that stands out the most is his ability to make me laugh. Derek and I have been through a lot of stressful situations. My mom passed away right around the time we started dating, and I was devastated. Late night phone conversations with Derek were one of the only times that I laughed freely and without it being terribly forced. We had a long distance relationship for a year and half, and when you are 2500mi away from your partner, laughter is priceless. You have to love the man that can make you laugh over how crazy and insane not getting to cuddle with anyone for months at a time makes you. The laughter is definitely the thing that glues our relationship together and I’m so thankful for it.

You also asked that we attach a picture. I tend to be more of a behind the camera type of person, so the number of pictures that Derek and I have together are limited. While I realize we could have taken a new one, I thought it would be more real to just send you my favorite. A friend snapped the attached picture at a Barcade (Bar/Arcade) in Knoxville, TN on my 21st birthday. We were both completely unaware of it. It’s been my favorite picture ever since.

Dusti and Kelsey

My wife is a pretty amazing woman. I’ve been recently diagnosed with ADD (yeah, as an adult) and the adjustment has been pretty hard… I’m trying to learn how to function as a normal adult (yay meds… except… boo) It never occurred to me that I wasn’t normal, you know? Apparently, I am supposed to be able to clean the kitchen and not end up freaking out when the tupperware cabinet attacks me. But Kelsey has been by me and holding me every step of the way. All the doctor’s appointments. The ridiculous chore charts so I remember to do things. And she does all of these things and so rarely snaps (just being honest here). She has been pushing me to be the best of me I can be and I would love nothing more than to be able to surprise her with a just because shoot while we’re in LA visiting her family. She comes from a Catholic family so the fact that we’re two chicks… well, its been a big pill for them to swallow and she’s been standing up for me and for our relationship for as long as we’ve been together. So, I guess I’ve just been the most thankful for her and her ability to love me and put up with me… all weird twists and turns of me.

Our names are Dusti and Kelsey  we’ve been married for just over 6 months now. YAY!

Emily and Jon

I am so thankful for Jon because he loves me like no one ever has before.  Jon was also recently diagnosed with a chronic disease, so he is also teaching me how to be thankful for each and every day and to live in the present.  We don’t know what is to come, so we have to enjoy today for what it is: beautiful, perfect and full of joy, no matter what.

The photo attached was taken right after we got engaged- with a surfboard on the beach!  The board was previously broken in half and he fixed it all by himself.

We are Emily and Jonathan and we have been dating for almost three years, engaged since July 4th.
