Published in Verve Magazine

A very close friend and co-worker of mine at Navitat Canopy Adventures was featured this month in Verve Magazine, Western North Carolina’s Smartest Magazine for Women. I had the opportunity to photograph her earlier this year and was happy they chose to use my photograph for the feature. If you’re in the area, make sure to pick up a copy of November’s issue. She’s only one of the many badass women you can read about!

The Copeland Family

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to do a family session for a couple of our very close friends. Their family was visiting from Nebraska and we chose to go to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, a popular spot for portrait and wedding photography. I thought it was pretty fitting that they came all the way from Nebraska to North Carolina only to be photographed around corn and hay! They were great sports for me, running around the field and climbing on hay bails… even when it meant laughing so hard they toppled off! Thanks guys, it was a blast!

Lacey & Pippy II

Lots of land to roam around on in a couple short hours and definitely not enough time to capture everything before the sun sank behind the hills, but I had so much fun capturing the sexy lady in Lacey and the bond she shares with her pup. She was such a fun girl to take pictures of and it was great to watch her gain confidence in front of the camera. I just hope these pictures show her how beautiful the woman in her is! I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend a warm June evening in the Asheville, North Carolina countryside. Thanks girls!

Push Asheville Fashion {Preview}

I work as a photographer with a company called Navitat and last weekend their amazing marketing gal and myself went to a local event called Push Asheville Fashion. We represented Navitat as a sponsor by donating gift certificates to our tour and I was also given a press pass by the wonderful staff of the Orange Peel. It was such a fun, hip, exciting, fashion centered night for the city of Asheville and their designers! Here’s a quick preview of some of the photos of that night. More to come!

Lacey & Pippy

Meet Lacey and Pippy, two beautiful girls I had the honor of photographing a few weeks ago. A family who will remain unnamed for privacy purposes was generous enough to allow me on their property (correction: estate) anytime for portrait sessions. Let’s just say when I was taking these I was in heaven. Such a gorgeous piece of property for the three of us to roam around on in the setting sun. These are just a few pictures that were captured of these two beautiful girls. Thanks Lacey, it was a blast!

Beauty Spot on Unaka Mountain

We found a spot on the border of Tennessee/North Carolina called Beauty Spot on Unaka Mountain. The hour drive one evening after work was worth getting there in time for the golden light flowing over the top of the mountain into the meadow. Being fairly new to the area of Asheville, NC it helped me realize the beauty of this place. It’s amazing out in this area of the country! Different from Alaska, Oregon, or Arizona where we’ve been previously, but breathtakingly beautiful in it’s own way.  I’m definitely coming back to this spot for a portrait session. In the meantime, enjoy pictures of my boy and our furry dog-child Tucker Blue.
